The Story Of Anne Dillon

adult elder elderly enjoyment

Well, she died at the age of 94 after a tough, tough life. She was pulled out of the third grade to take care of a dying aunt a few miles from home in a small hamlet in Western Ireland.

Then, she was sent to America to take care of a dying uncle who was a priest. After he died, she returned to bring her two sisters to America. On the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, her youngest sister died in her arms.

Later on, in her forties, she married Timothy, a fireman from County Cork who joined the Chicago fire department. She gave birth to my mom and 22 years later, he died of cancer.

She lived alone for 50 years after mom married dad. She never complained about anything.

Those who suffer are the best teachers!

If not today, when?
