Why Vienna Was Named City With Highest Quality of Life

(Vienna, Austria)

Every year, the Economist Intelligence Unit releases its global index of the world’s most liveable cities. The rankings are determined by a range of factors, such as access to green spaces, quality of health care and crime rates.

These are the winners:

2022’s Global Liveability Index: The top 10

1. Vienna, Austria
2. Copenhagen, Denmark
3. Zurich, Switzerland
4. Calgary, Canada
5. Vancouver, Canada
6. Geneva, Switzerland
7. Frankfurt, Germany
8. Toronto, Canada
9. Amsterdam, Netherlands
10. Osaka, Japan and Melbourne, Australia (tie)
Switzerland has two cities and Canada has three cities in the top ten.
America has none.
How is that possible?
Probably because of our crime rate, primarily.
Six of the top ten are located in Europe.
It looks like America has to get its house in order.
