I don’t think apologies are as big a part of our culture as they once were.
Oh, people may admit to their wrongdoing, but they won’t apologize for it.
In order to apologize, you must lower your ego and, in effect, seek the offended party’s forgiveness.
The worst thing to do is to deny the fact that you were the culprit.
That lie then becomes something you have to live with.
I’ve always said that you must live with yourself which includes your past deeds and misdeeds.
Your life will be made easier if you simply apologize and move on.
