Recently, my niece and two of her children, aged 16 & 14 traveled to Togo, West Africa.
Togo hs a population of 9 million people.
The average annual household income is $1,100 U.S. per capita.
It has strong dependance on agriculture.
It has low levels of industrial development and political instability.
Togo is considerred to be one of the poorest cities on earth.
Yet, my niece and her children felt great love expressed to family members and friends.
As hard as it is to believe, despite the poverty, the people were happy and welcoming!
