Parents: Step Up!

Your kids need you now, more than ever.

Some recent graduates are looking for non-existent jobs.

They are bewildered and depressed.

You see it in their faces.

The young people in your family need someone to turn to.

And that someone is YOU!

The very best step you can take is to LISTEN!

They are living in a completely different world than the one you grew up in.

You don’t have all the answers, but you can become a very attentive listener.

Jim Beam Slows Production!

Popular Kentucky bourbon maker Jim Beam plans to pause production at its main distillery on January 1, according to the James B. Beam Distilling Co.

The decision comes as Kentucky faces an increasing supply of aging barrels and uncertainty over President Donald Trump’s trade wars.

Kentucky has an all-time high of 16.1 million aging barrels of bourbon in its warehouses, the Kentucky Distillers’ Association said in October.

Distillers are paying for that supply, since the state charges taxes on aging barrels of spirits.

Kentucky distillers paid $75 million in aging barrel taxes this year, up 27% from 2024, according to the trade group. CNN

Happiness Proceeds From The Achievement Of One’s Values!

(Ayn Rand)

We’re talking about being true to one’s values.

Today’s blog is a marriage of two concepts: success & values.

There are many pathways to the attainment of success.

Still, there can be a feeling of emptiness if the success violates your values.

Do you try to live in harmony with your values?

What is the one thing you’d most like to do for a living?

Does it complement or violate your values?

We Make A Life By What We Give!

(Winston Churchill)

Winston Churchill was an extreme example of a giver.

He literally spent his entire life in service to England.

Many people in every society devote themselves to various causes they believe in.

Find a cause you believe in.

Whatever personal time you can give will make the world a better place.

And that’s really what it’s all about.

Pizza & The Economy!

Pizza sales are a good measure of the U.S. economy.

People are ordering smaller pizzas.

With fewer toppings.

Pizzas are THE dominant food in America.

So, it’s the food group to watch.

Lower priced restaurants are also seeing an increase in patrons.

People love to go out to eat, but they’re becoming more discerning on price.

Because food is becoming more expensive, it should be watched more closely!

You really can save money by comparing prices and making wise decisions about what to serve.

Planning ahead, sticking to your list and controlling impulse purchasing does save money.

Are You A Re-gifter?

(This blog is my attempt at being facetious)

Is the budget a little tight this holiday season?

Then maybe you should become a re-gifter.

It is someone who receives a gift and then passes it on to someone else.

If you are so inclined, change the wrappings to freshen it up.

Check the gift thoroughly to make sure you aren’t identified by a card from the previous giver.

Above all, make sure you are not giving it to a person who is connected to the original giver who might just mention the gift in a group conversation.
