Risk Averse?

Psychotherapist: Most People Make Same Big Mistake When Taking Risks - Business Insider

(Google)

All the below are found on a Google website dealing with risk taking.

Some may be of interest to you or none of them!

Taking risks is essential for growth and fulfillment in life.

Risk taking allows for new experiences, learning and the possibility to achieve one’s potential.

Courage is not the absence of fear, but the judgement that something else is more important.

Risk taking requires the importance of courage and overcoming fear.

It also requires embracing uncertainty in order to achieve growth.

Taking calculated risks is different than being rash.

Lucille Ball said: I’d rather regret the things I’ve done than the things I haven’t done.

I agree with Lucille Ball.

I’m so glad I was a crewman aboard the big yachts racing from Port Huron and Chicago to Mackinac Island!

I feared doing it for many years!

Positive Attitude?

It’s not always easy.

But, it’s so important for you and all of us.

Recently, I have not been as positive as I’ve always been.

One of my family members reminded me of that.

And I’m making corrections to my attitude.

Let’s face it. No one wants to be around a grump!

Be positive in expressing yourself and your ideas.

You will always find greater acceptance.

Even though, sometimes, you have to fake it.

Sometimes faking it leads to a great attitude that lasts the whole day.

Do You Think Of The Poor?

Some people are so consumed with their wealth that it is all they can think about. They worry about it and how to protect it and increase it. It is the prime focus of their life.

They are almost unaware that there are people right around them who are hungry. Perhaps the waitress who served them coffee this morning or the man who parked their car. Maybe it is a person who cleans their home or their office.

The poor are not always visible and usually try not to expose their needs. In fact, sometimes they deliberately fake happiness so that you will not know of their needs.

Every religion in the world speaks of this issue. Feed the hungry, do good works every day, no salvation without good deeds in this lifetime, take care of widows and orphans. The words don’t matter. It is the message.

Look around you. SEE THE HUNGRY.

Sometimes an unexpected large tip will feed a family for a day or two or three.

Be the person who doesn’t have to be asked.

Just surprise someone in your everyday surroundings with a quiet, generous gift and expect nothing in return.

Feel the joy in your heart.

Do it often!

“The Only Thing To Fear Is Fear Itself.” FDR

President Roosevelt first gave the “Fear Itself” advice at his inauguration.

It was in the midst of the Great Depression in 1933.

He felt that fear could be a greater obstacle than the actual challenges we face.

As we are all aware, these are times which may bring uncertainties for our future.

I suggest that we must first be sure our loving relationships are tight!

We must become better listeners and be conscious of what is going on in our neighborhoods, our states and our country.

We must also have a contingency plan if things go awry.

Be awake! Be aware

Disappointment?

There are many sources of disappointment.

Yourself, spouse, children, employer, co-workers and just life sometimes.

Maybe you are dealing with some disappointment in several of the above categories.

I think the most severe is disappointment in yourself.

This must be addressed first because it affects all other categories.

You must have a high enough sense of self esteem in order to properly address others.

The only way to solve disappointment in you is to forgive yourself.

Once you’ve forgiven self, you can forgive others!

Do You Have Wisdom?

If someone has genuine wisdom, they'll quietly display these 9 behaviors

While looking up the qualities of wisdom, I found three attributes.

They are: Knowledge, Experience and Good Judgement.

I beg to differ with the idea that these three qualities are all prerequisites of wisdom..

I think Good Judgement is the result of Knowledge and Experience.

So, I think Experience must come first.

After having many life experiences, a person can draw conclusions which become knowledge.

There is another quality that is outside the dictionary definition and that is Common Sense. It comes from the practice of knowledge and Experience.

It also comes from every day living and is learned as a person matures.

And hopefully, the application of Experience, knowledge, Good Judgement and Common Sense will enable one to have Wisdom.

Believe in Prayer?

500+ Prayer Images [HD] | Download Free Pictures On Unsplash

I think most people who pray are asking God for something.

This is understandable.

Sometimes their prayers are answered, sometimes not the way they wish.

When the outcome is not favorable, some people give up on prayer.

We have to remember our God is not a push button God.

I think praying is establishing a relationship with God.

I also don’t believe we should pray only when we want something.

I believe in prayers of thanksgiving for all our blessings.

Of course, I believe God loves us and that love is unwavering.

Thank you, God!
