Do People Apologize Anymore?

I don’t think apologies are as big a part of our culture as they once were.

Oh, people may admit to their wrongdoing, but they won’t apologize for it.

In order to apologize, you must lower your ego and, in effect, seek the offended party’s forgiveness.

The worst thing to do is to deny the fact that you were the culprit.

That lie then becomes something you have to live with.

I’ve always said that you must live with yourself which includes your past deeds and misdeeds.

Your life will be made easier if you simply apologize and move on.

World’s Longest Train

BERGUEN, 29OCT22 - Impression of the world record run of the Rhaetian Railway's longest passenger train (1.91 kilometers) on the UNESCO World Heritage route, the alpine Albula line, in Graubuenden on October 29, 2022

To celebrate Switzerland’s first railroad, it built a train with 100 cars weighing 2,990 tons.

Leave it to the Swiss to accomplish whatever objective they want to pursue.

The train in the photo above is all one train.

We often use the phrase, “as good as a fine swiss watch.

We visited Switzerland once many years ago.

We visited a violin factory. The precision craftsmanship was amazing.

We rode up a mountain on a cogwheel train.

While on the train, we could look down at small villages with just a few homes in each.

The thing in common were perfectly stacked logs behind every home.

Don’t ever underestimate the Swiss!

Attack on Paul Pelosi Is A Wake Up Call!

An intruder broke into the California home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi early Friday and attacked her husband Paul Pelosi with a hammer while she was in Washington, DC.

Paul Pelosi underwent surgery “to repair a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands.

He is expected to make a full recovery, according to a statement released by the speaker’s office.

The suspected attacker, David DePape, who has a history of sharing conspiracy theories on social media, said he would wait “until Nancy got home.”

DePape was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and several additional felonies, according to SFPD Chief William Scott.

Social media platforms and law enforcement must act now to stop this abuse before a politician is gravely injured or killed.

Rhetoric results in actions by the deranged segment of our society.

It’s obvious our Democracy is under attack by those who would replace it with a dictatorship.

Your vote November 8 will determine the future of our beloved country.

Iranian Women Show Great Courage!

Iran's women in revolt | On Point

They also added to the moral imperative for the rest of the world to do more.

In Amini’s birthplace of Saqqez, where the 22-year-old also known as Zhina is now buried, thousands of people defied the police and turned out to mark an important day in the mourning process, even as security forces fired live bullets and tear gas to stop them.

Demonstrations also took place in numerous other cities.

In Isfahan, women waved black scarves in the air, chanting “Azadi, Azadi!” (“Freedom, freedom!”) in Farsi.

In Shiraz, young women walked confidently on city sidewalks without veils, their hair flowing in the air in violation of Iranian law.

In Amol, where authorities have already shot and killed protesters, unarmed men and women marched directly toward armed security forces, kneeled, put their hands up, and declared themselves ready to die for their cause. (CNN)

Don’t Keep Count In A Marriage?

Premium Photo | Cropped image of beautiful young woman using a vacuum cleaner while cleaning carpet in the house

For a marriage to be successful, both partners must be committed to whatever needs to be done.

Vacuuming, as an example, is not “woman’s work!”

And above all, don’t begin counting who did what last and whose turn it is to do the next thing.

Let’s remember, marriage is a partnership and must be conducted like one.

Your primary objective is to make all efforts necessary to make your spouse happy with the relationship.

He or she will be happy if feel they are treated fairly.

And keeping count of who did what last is not the path to FAIRNESS!

It’s impossible for your spouse to feel loved if they feel they are carrying the larger burden.

Be fair! Don’t count!

Drones & Flying Robots Keep Birds Away From Aircraft!

Airplanes and birds have been sharing the skies since the first ever flight back in 1903.

However, to say this has led to some issues, particularly over the last few decades, is something of an understatement.

Collisions between birds and aircraft are the cause of thousands of bird deaths every year.

Such incidents, known as bird strikes, can also result in aircraft damage, as well as delays and cancellation of flights, costing the International Civil Aviation Organization a reported $1.4 billion each year.

Airport wildlife management teams currently employ a number of deterrents, such as drones and birds of prey — including falcons — to try to scare birds away from the airport surroundings. (CNN)

This is the age of drones.

They can be used for peaceful endeavors and also as vicious war making machines.

Drones are being built to land behind enemy lines and attack from the rear.

Future wars will be fought without soldiers.

Electric Cars Will Have Motors In The Rim Of Its Wheels!

London (CNN Business)

In 1900, Ferdinand Porsche and Ludwig Lohner unveiled an electric car with battery-powered motors attached to its front wheels.

It was seen as a sensation, but the technology never took off as petrol cars accelerated to world domination.

More than a century later, in-wheel motors are making a comeback.

Mounted in the rim of an electric vehicle’s wheels, the motors increase efficiency by delivering power directly to where it’s needed most.

“In-wheel motors are a game changer,” says Luka Ambrozic, chief commercial officer of Slovenian company Elaphe Propulsion Technologies, one of the leading developers of the technology.

They offer the “ultimate freedom of design,” he says, giving vehicle manufacturers the opportunity “to build better and smarter cars.”

The innovations in electric car design are breathtaking!

Motors built into the wheels themselves, makes sense.

And it seems be to technically feasible.

Society Expects You To “Just Move On” After A Loss!

Straight away, Nora McInerny noticed core differences in how people responded to the coronavirus pandemic.

For some, the deadly virus and its upheaval constituted the “first big thing they’d ever been through.”

Meanwhile, McInerny and others whose lives had been shaped by grief, loss or tragedy had long known that “life is fragile and our pace in this modern world is untenable.”

McInerny’s first husband, Aaron, died three days before Thanksgiving 2014, leaving her to raise their son, Ralphie.

She’d just had a miscarriage.

She had lost her father less than one month earlier.

“Bad Vibes Only” is a collection of essays about “existing in the contradictions of modern life.”

Her work — as host of the podcast “Terrible, Thanks for Asking” and author of “It’s Okay to Laugh (Crying Is Cool Too)” and “No Happy Endings,” reflects those losses, countering the societal pressures to “live, laugh and love.” (CNN)

I THINK HER CANDOR IS REFRESHING!!

Always Someone Better

Ilia Malinin made figure-skating history at Skate American on Saturday.

American teenager Ilia Malinin landed the second ever quadruple axel in competition on Saturday without so much as a wobble.

Competing at Skate America, the 17-year-old’s historic free skate secured him the gold medal in his senior Grand Prix debut as he became the youngest men’s champion in the event’s history.

Malinin had become the first person ever to complete a quadruple axel in competition last month during the US International Figure Skating Classic, a lower-level event.

“This morning I wasn’t really sure if I would attempt it or not,” Malinin told NBC afterwards.

“But I think that it came over my mind that everyone’s watching, I have to go for this and I went for it and I landed it. I’m still in shock.”

“The whole building was screaming for at least a couple of seconds after that, I didn’t even know if the music was still playing.”

People are making dreams come true everyday.

You could make your dreams come true!

Hospitals Swamped With RSV Patients!

A 3-year-old patient in the hospital receives medication via an inhalation mask to treat Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

In September, an 8-month-old baby came into Dr. Juanita Mora’s office in Chicago with an infection the doctor hadn’t expected to see for another two months: RSV.

Like her peers across the country, the allergist and immunologist has been treating little ones with this cold-like virus well before the season usually starts.

“We’re seeing RSV infections going rampant all throughout the country,”

Almost all children catch RSV at some point before they turn 2.

Most adults who catch it have a mild illness; for those who are elderly or who have chronic heart or lung disease or a weakened immune system, it can be dangerous.

But RSV can be especially tricky for infants and kids.

It’s important for parents and caregivers to know what to watch for with RSV, which stands for respiratory syncytial virus.

That way, they know whether a sick child can be treated at home or needs to go to a hospital.
