There a many things wrong in America and you know what they are.

Politicians who blatantly lie to their constituency.

People in high places promoting conspiracy theories.

Parents who are not providing the kind of leadership to combat the influence of the social media.

Too many of our fellow citizens lukewarm patriots.

A growing segment of our population falling into poverty.

Racial prejudice alive and rampant.

In the midst of all these things wrong with America, You must stand up and “Take The Road Less Travelled!”

You must epitomize, every day in every way, those good qualities you want your kids to live by.

All too many parents are not providing the brand of leadership we need to turn America around.

Stand for what you know is good and right.

If not today, when?

You are seeing the “Changing of the King’s Guard” while London has a snow storm.

England’s cherished traditions must go on, no matter what the circumstances may bring.

Because the city is in the southern part of the country, it does not experience as much snow as the northern part or as in Scotland.

The infrequent snowfall brings the city to a halt.

Buses can’t move because their wheels just spin on the snow,

All forms of transit are likewise affected.

Schools are closed and many workers are stuck at home.

Despite all of this, children are delighted and adults are in a lighter mood, also.

So, life goes on even on those days mighty London is brought to her knees.

There is a lesson there for all of us!

For the first time ever, US scientists at the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California successfully produced a nuclear fusion reaction resulting in a net energy gain, a source familiar with the project confirmed to CNN.

The US Department of Energy is expected to officially announce the breakthrough Tuesday.

The result of the experiment would be a massive step in a decadeslong quest to unleash an infinite source of clean energy that could help end dependence on fossil fuels.

Researchers for decades have attempted to recreate nuclear fusion – replicating the fusion that powers the sun.

US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm will make an announcement Tuesday on a “major scientific breakthrough,” the department announced Sunday.

The breakthrough was first reported by the Financial Times. (CNN)

This will solve our fossil fuel energy dependence forever.

A glass of water could power your house for decades.

Now, we have a fighting chance to save the earth and all its ecosystems.

Everything you say and do in the presence of your kids is noticed and remembered.

You are in a 24/7 leadership role.

Unfortunately, your kids don’t learn from you alone.

They are subjected to many influences; friends and social media to name a few.

So how do you influence your kids in a positive manner when there are so many negative sources of information.

Obviously, you must remain true to your values.

And I have an old fashioned idea: The evening family meal.

It seems that sitting down together as a family for a meal has “gone out of style.” In my experience it is extremely important.

Even if it is only a couple times a week or even just once a week, sitting for awhile face to face over a meal is the best and easiest way to communicate. In our family experience, our children would come home from school and have a light (in between) meal like a sandwich or cereal or a can of soup.

Then we would wait (usually about 6:30) until everyone was home to have dinner.  Our kids look back on those days with happy memories. It was often loud and a bit rowdy but it was always fun. 

Please consider. It is worth the effort.

Peer pressure is a powerful thing and you must find out what’s going on.

I know you have issues of your own to deal with, but your kids need your love and leadership.

You can’t have the “inmates running the asylum!”  

A society cannot reach its full potential without compassion!

And how do you conduct yourself?

Are you only concerned about yourself and your loved ones?

When some people see someone who needs help, they look the other way.

They don’t want to get involved.

On February 9, 2021, a national survey revealed that 36% of American adults reported seriousness loneliness.

Are you surprised?

Would it move you enough to do something about it where you live?

So, are you compassionate?

Are you a good example for your children?

Will your children become compassionate or selfish adults?

No society can reach its full potential without compassion!

Don’t look the other way.

Not today. Not ever!

They took the regular flashlight, that we’ve seen go without much of a change for over 100 years, get turned on its heels.

We all have situations when we need to “light up the darkness!”

He fought in the Boer War in South Africa, was captured and escaped.

Churchill was First Lord of The Admiralty (Navy) during WWI.

He was fired from that position and then decided he would go fight in the trenches in France.

Although he was afraid England would be invaded by Germany in WWII, as Prime Minister, he persuaded the British people to hold fast.

I believe fear is a necessary ingredient of COURAGE!

I also believe you cannot enjoy a full life without overcoming your fears!

YOU MUST GO OUT AND DO WHAT YOU’RE AFRAID OF!

If not today, when?

Are you habitually late?

Have you thought about the impression you make on those who made the effort to arrive early or on time?

Why are you late?

Do you misjudge how long it will take you to arrive at your destination?

Do you sleep in too late?

Do you forget what time you are supposed to be there?

Do you plan the drive time required to make your appointment?

Habitual lateness is a character flaw that you can correct if you want to be on time from now on.

The decision is in your hands.

All your relationships will be improved if you arrive on time.

If not today, when?

You are good at something and possibly more than one thing.

If you are talented in a certain area, are you using it to its greatest potential?

Or, are you using it at all?

We all have some talents we were born with and others you may have developed along the way.

So, you have resources you could put to good use.

Sit down and take inventory of your strengths.

Next, evaluate which strengths are being under utilized.

This evaluation could dramatically change your life for the better.

Don’t put it off to sometime in the future.

Do it today.

I’m not talking about gifts.

There are so many gifts of yourself that warm the hearts of loved ones and friends.

One of the greatest is the gift of time, your time.

In this fast paced world, we often don’t have quality time to enter into a meaningful dialogue.

Taking the time for a phone call is much better than firing off a text or email.

How about a personal note in your handwriting that expresses your unwavering affection for the other person?

How about showing up at their door with a bouquet of red poinsettias?

Remember, the greatest gift is YOU!
