Time To Exhale!

The nose knows: How breathing through your nose improves your health

The elections, with the exception of Georgia, are over.

All the tv ads that swamped the airwaves are over!

Thank God.

Of course we never knew who was lying and who was telling the truth.

One good result is that our European allies unanimously were reassured that the American Democracy is still alive and well.

They reached that conclusion because so many of the political contest were so close.

And, here on Sunday afternoon, some are still too close to call.

We’re still a thriving Democracy and the voting system works.

So, exhale.

We still have time to live our lives until 2024 rolls around.

Billionaire On Monday. Broke On Friday!

New York (CNN Business)

Sam Bankman-Fried woke up on Monday still a billionaire, even as his cryptocurrency empire was beginning to unravel.

By Friday, his fortune was completely wiped out.

Based on net worth calculations by Bloomberg, Bankman-Fried was worth about $16 billion at the start of the week.

But as his crypto exchange, FTX, collapsed, the value of his assets was reduced to zero in what Bloomberg called “one of history’s greatest-ever destructions of wealth.”

Climate Disasters Are Getting Worse!

Climate disasters, like wildfire, extreme heat and deadly hurricanes, are becoming more frequent in the US, a new federal report draft says.

The world already has warmed a little more than 1 degree Celsius, with the US warming faster than the global average.

The goal of the Paris Agreement is to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, or at most to 2 degrees Celsius. To do it, the US needs to reach “net-zero” carbon emissions by about 2050, which will require a total clean energy transformation, and will likely require technology to suck our previous planet-warming emissions back out of the atmosphere.

The United States’s emissions need to fall 6% per year. US emissions fell just 12% over the course of nearly two decades between 2007 and 2019.

“Many extremes, including heatwaves, heavy precipitation, drought, flooding, wildfire, and tropical cyclones/hurricanes, are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change.”

And the disasters are costly, both in terms of lives and dollars. (CNN)

Election Is Over. Let’s get Along.

Race and Voting in California - Public Policy Institute of California

After all the “name calling,” truths and untruths, Americans have spoken.

Now, let’s heal the wounds and move on.

We are the most diverse society in the world.

Our ancestors came to America speaking different languages, from different cultures and traditions.

Now that all these people are now American citizens, they all seem to want the same things:

They want to live free from fear.

They want to seek gainful employment.

They want their children to receive a good education.

They want access to good medical care.

They want to be accepted by their neighbors.

They want to attend the church of their choice.

It seems quite obvious, basically we all desire the same opportunities to live our lives in peace.

Now that we have spoken on Election Day in our Democracy, let’s all try to get along!

If not today, when?

Europeans Celebrate U.S. Vote!

Paris (CNN)

On newspaper stands across the French capital and online, the early results of America’s national elections were quite evident Wednesday morning.

The world – or at least the slice of it that continues to embrace the political system called democracy – has breathed a tentative sigh of RELIEF.

While some key results may remain unresolved for some days, the red wave was reduced to a stream.

America appears to have rejected the sharp turn toward the right that has marked so many other national elections this year.

Or as France’s leading newspaper Le Monde put the uncertainty over Congress: “A bad surprise for Republicans.”

France’s center-right daily Le Figaro conceded, “Contrary to the expectations of Donald Trump’s party, a red wave does not seem to be emerging in the United States.

The Democrats resisted, notably with a senatorial victory in Pennsylvania.”

Airlines Offer “Business Snuggle!”

As the aviation industry looks toward a future with more videoconferencing and fewer business travelers filling business class seats, it’s wooing upmarket leisure passengers to fill the gap.

Airlines are hoping that more business travelers will bring along their partners for “blended” or business-leisure — “bleisure” — travel.

Enter a new generation of design that allows two business class seats to be converted into a double bed better suited to couples.

More people now long for things that might have seemed less important before the world was turned upside down by Covid 19.

They want a slightly slower pace, with creature comforts along the way.

Yes, career is still important, but time with loved ones need not be sacrificed. The trend to mix business with pleasure lends itself to an increase in demand in the premium leisure category.” (CNN)

This is a “dramatic” example of another industry adapting to the changing demands of the marketplace!

There will probably be people at the polls trying to discourage you from voting.

They don’t want to see America continue as a Democracy.

They would rather see it become a dictatorship.

The power to determine the country your children and grandchildren will live in will be decided when you enter that ballot box.

Don’t let them down.

Be a Patriot and vote for a strong America who stands up to those who would tear us down.

America is the last great hope for those who want to live free.

VOTE!

Election Pole Workers Leaving In Droves!

Walking People Png - Back Side Of People Png, Transparent Png - 1620x1620(#356560) - PngFind

The threat of armed men intimidating voters at the polls is driving election workers away.

Of course, this is the best way to undermine our Democracy.

A recent poll says voters don’t care about losing our Democracy.

They care about two things: abortion and gas prices.

There has not been much reaction to the attack on Paul Pelosi which was obviously politically motivated.

Violence should have no place in our political process.

Yet people seem to ignore the violent insurrection that took place in Washington in an attempt to undermine the 2020 presidential election.

By ignoring the defense of our Democracy, we’re slipping toward a dictatorship which we will regret.

Democracies don’t allow armed men at election locations!
