She’s Finally Off To New York!

It was a difficult journey for one of our granddaughters.

First came the challenge of admission to her chosen major at Uuiversity of Michigan.

Then four arduous years of study in which she got very high grades.

Then various internships which gave her practical experience in her chosen field.

Then saving up money with multiple jobs to pay for expenses after graduation.

Even before graduation, she pursued interviews to find the kind of job she wanted.

Rejection and disappointment followed despite her credentials.

This story, however, has a happy ending.

She was hired yesterday by a premier company in New York!

Her perseverence paid off!

She got the exact job she wanted with the perfect company in the heart of Manhattan.

An Unexamined Life Should Be Examined!

(Aristotle)

Do you feel examining some of your issues would be helpful?

If so, create a written hierarchy of those that are most important.

Separate those that are working well from those that aren’t?

Which will you work on first?

Those that are good and can be better?

Those that require a correction?

Just a few simple steps to create an examined life.

I hope you find them helpful!

Digital Exhaustion

(A new book)

Many of us are getting burned out while using technology.

There is even some evidence that teenagers are using less social media.

It can be tiring switching from one app to another.

And when interrupted by a phone call, your mind has to jump into tech again.

The use of technology has powerful impacts on us.

It shapes our attention, emotions and thinking.

This leads to feelings of anxiety and being overwhelmed.

My Dad always said, “Everything in moderation.”

Seems like we should take his advice!

Love Is The Answer!

We can express our love for someone in many different ways.

It all depends on the circumstances.

One necessary companion of love is kindness.

Of course, love is best expressed when giving forgiveness.

Love must be expressed in actions, not words only.

In these uncertain times, love is the answer!

More Women Are Becoming Prime Ministers!

Right-wing Sanae Takaichi set to be Japan's first female ...

Japan’s governing party on Saturday elected former Economic Security Minister Sanae Takaichi as its new leader, making her likely to become the country’s first female prime minister.

In a country that ranks poorly internationally for gender equality, Takaichi would make history as the first female leader of Japan’s long-governing conservative Liberal Democratic Party.

She is one of the most conservative members of the male-dominated party.

Claudia Sheinbaum was recently elected the first female Prime Minister of Mexico.

Other countries include: Italy, Uganda, Iceland, Aruba and Uganda.

Things are changing!

Dr. Jane Goodall Helped Us Live With Our Animal Partners!

Jane Goodall, whose lifelong work as a primatologist helped broaden the world’s understanding of animal behavior and emotions, has died. She was 91.

Her field studies with chimpanzees not only broke barriers for women and changed the way scientists study animals, but documented emotions and personality traits within these primates that blurred the line between humans and the animal kingdom.

“Dr. Goodall was a tireless advocate for the protection & restoration of our natural world.” (CNN)

There are some people who devote their lives to our benefit. She was one of them!

Are you over exposed?

Are you saturated with the news?

Is the news the first thing you turn to every morning and the last thing at night?

Do you think it might cast a “pall” over your day since most of the time, the news is bad?

Or maybe you just don’t want to miss anything but you pay a price in your happy/sad outlook for the day.

Does the fact that there was a fire in Texas or a bus rollover in South Carolina have any important meaning in your life other than a downer moment?

Only you can control what comes into your brain everyday and this is something you, when aware, can take charge of.

Take a day, one whole day, without exposing yourself to the worries of the world and enjoy the freedom!
