If its something you’ve decided to do, why not knock it out of the park?
It all hinges on the level of expectations you have set for yourself.
It’s you versus you.
Actually, its always been that way.
And always will be!

(Arthur Ashe)

It is never too late to start over!
Don’t bring your yesterdays with you.
Why? Because they are gone.
You, however, can decide what your tomorrows will be.
Actually, that’s true for each of us.
It doesn’t mean that your yesterdays weren’t great.
It does mean your future is up to you.
So, the facts are that we can do better and be better.
If not today, when?

You’re looking at the victory party for the Cleveland Guardians.
They beat the Texas Rangers in the last half of the 9th inning.
That’s not unusual.
But, stay tuned.
Here are the facts:
The teams were tied at 2 to 2.
There were Guardians on 2nd and 3rd base.
There were two outs.
The Texas Rangers decided to walk the next batter so the bases were loaded.
This would help them make an out at any base.
The Rangers pitcher threw a pitch that hit the Guardians hitter in the back.
This caused the runner on third to score with a WALK OFF HIT BATSMAN!
Guardians won 3 to 2.

The message here is to choose a less popular or more challenging path in life.
Few of us deliberately make such a decision.
It is more risky than the road that is trampled down by the vast majority.
There is, of course, no guarantee of success.
But, you will put yourself on a journey of self-discovery.
The less traveled road may have many surprises, both good and bad, but you will be in charge.
You will make the decisions. You will call the shots.
You will be the creator and the recipient of all the successes and pitfalls.
Will you choose the smooth road following the majority or cast out on your own?
It takes courage and determination, but the rewards may be great
Don’t reach middle age and regret not taking a chance.
Better to try and fail than always wonder, “Could I have done it?”

We’re in a better mood when we are looking forward to an upcoming event.
Even though the event may not be here for weeks.
Still, the very thought of it puts us in a more positive mindset.
Now let’s flip the coin and assume we don’t have something positive coming up.
Then the ball is in your court.
You must create something positive.
Maybe, you can call a friend and set up a luncheon date for the end of this week.
Or, you could schedule a phone call with a distant relative.
Get the point?
You and I can always have something to look forward to.
WE’RE ALIVE!!!
If not today, when?

It’s all about attitude.
Do YOU want to make the world a better place?
Or will you take care of your needs…
And let the world take care of itself?
Unfortunately, that’s the prevailing attitude.
I HAVE NEVER FELT THAT WAY!
I have written over 2200 blogs. I don’t get paid for them.
So, why do I make the effort every morning?
Now that I’m 84, it’s my way of trying to make the world a better place.
What are you willing to do?

Both of them are in our thoughts.
Which one will dominate your decisions?
The irony is that dreams are not attained without overcoming fears.
And fear usually wins the day!
What is your history regarding dreams and fears?
I ask this because we are all creatures of habit.
And habits are hard to break.
Unfortunately, the clock is ticking.
As you get older, your dreams may become out of reach.
All I can tell you is I had a longstanding fear that I finally overcame.
I put it off till age 63, and I will be forever happy achieving it!

For what?
For all the years!
For all the kindness
For all the patience!
For all the loyalty!
For being there!
For understanding!
For putting the marriage first!
For being a role model for the children!
Etc, etc, etc
(Roger Staubach)

Roger Staubach was the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys from 1969 to 1979.
Can you imagine the physical punishment he had to endure in all those years?
We must learn of our possibilities by watching people like him.
Each of us can go the “EXTRA MILE” if we are willing to put out the effort.
It’s not easy, but it is possible!
It’s your choice.
If not today, when?

(In my youth, there was a popular song entitled “Make Someone Happy.” It had a truly meaningful message. A message much needed in these times.)
Make someone happy
Make just one, someone happy
Make just one heart the heart you cling to
Fame, if you win it
Comes and goes in a minute
Where’s the real stuff in life, to cling to?
Love is the answer
Someone to love is the answer
Make someone happy
Make just one, someone happy
And you will be happy too
