We all have had to rise above misfortune of some magnitude in our lives.
When we accomplish that feat, we must tuck it away for future use.
I say this because it will serve us well when new challenges come our way.
We’re not done dealing with adversity. No, not yet!
There’s always something just around the corner.
As we age, we’re not as strong physically, but, hopefully, stronger mentally.
And ready to put new adversity into perspective.
It’s a lens through which we experience life.
And often we can share our traumas with those just beginning to deal with life so they will know it is possible to get through and come out the better for it.
It’s an old saying, but I’m actually asking you to count your blessings.
I think you’ll be surprised at how blest you are.
The irony is that things you take for granted belong on your list.
Here are some categories: Health, Availability of medical care, Parents, Spouse, Children, Siblings Friends, Personal Safety, A place to live, Employment Opportunities, Life in the U.S.
Yes, we have many blessings and we must be thankful for them every day!
I think there are two basic categories of satisfaction:
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
The obvious accomplishments would be work related if you are still gainfully employed. Whether you are self-employed or not, you should have an objective in mind each day. Today is not just another day. It’s an opportunity to make some improvement.
RELATIONSHIPS:
The relationships you have with others is key to your satisfaction with yourself. These relationships must be nurtured so they can grow. The greatest priority is loved ones. In these changing times, loved ones come first!
