I’m going to do something I’ve never done before.

I’m devoting this week’s blogs to one topic, FAMILY HARMONY.

A definition of Family Harmony is, “A state of peaceful coexistence and cooperation among family menbers.”

These are difficult times and each person reacts to them differently.

Is family harmony possible in today’s family?

I will offer suggestions on how you can improve harmony and bring your family closer.

The topics for the following four days are:

Openness

Listening

Empathy

Forgiveness

TEMPER HAS NO PLACE IN FAMILY HARMONY.

Supreme Court To Hear Case Of Ticketing Homeless People!

Advocates hand out supplies to the unhoused community at Morrison Park in Grants Pass, Oregon, on March 28, 2024.

When Helen Cruz pitched her tent in a city park a few years ago and made it her home, she chose the location for one reason:

She wanted to be close to the houses she cleans for a living but could never afford for herself.

“People see the irony of it,” said Cruz, 49. “I never looked at it like that.”

What Cruz didn’t realize then was that living in a park in Grants Pass, Oregon, would place her in the middle of a national debate that will reach the Supreme Court on Monday about whether cities can respond to a spike in homelessness by punishing homeless people.

In the most significant appeal involving unhoused Americans to reach the high court in decades, the justices will hear arguments Monday on whether ticketing people who live on the streets is “cruel and unusual” and violates the Eighth Amendment. (CNN)

In a country where dreamers can try to make their dreams come true, homelessness is growing.

Let’s see what the Supreme Court has to say.

Your Health?

EVERY aspect of your life is affected by the status of your health.

Also, everything becomes easier if you are in good health.

To be honest, however, each of us doesn’t have a perfect body.

We have probably inherited some lingering problem from our parents.

But, you can become healthier anyway.

To put yourself in better health, the best exercise is WALKING.

It’s not expensive and it is something most of us can do.

You have to make a commitment though to do it consistently!

To do it consistently, it might be helpful to walk with a partner.

If you do, you’ll be healthier and happier!

“Bird Flu” Possible?

Bird flu outbreak poses no risk to ...

The headlines are concerning: “Highly pathogenic avian influenza found in Texas, Kansas dairy cattle.”

Bird flu detected in dairy worker.”

First human case of avian flu in Texas raises alarm.”

Could this be how the next pandemic begins?

Well, so far US officials are saying they believe there is minimal risk to the public from the latest iteration of bird flu.

But with growing evidence of potential mammal-to-mammal spread just weeks after the new bird flu was detected in cows, leaders in capitals around the globe should be working to get ahead of this new public health threat.  (CNN)

Olympic Flame Is Lit

Greek actress Mary Mina, playing the role of High Priestess, carries the torch during the Olympic Flame lighting ceremony for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Olympia, Greece

The flame for the 2024 Paris Olympics has been lit in Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympics.

The flame will now begin its journey in a relay to light the cauldron that will mark the opening for the Summer Games in July.

Dignitaries and members of the public gathered in the stadium, where the earliest recorded Games were held in 776 BC, to witness the lighting of the flame.

In a choreographed event high in symbolism inspired by the traditions and values of ancient Greece, actresses dressed as ancient priestesses entered the stadium to gracefully accompany the head priestess to the Temple of Hera.

This is where religious ceremonies are thought to have taken place in ancient Greece and where the lighting ceremony is held. (CNN)

Airlines’ Dress Codes

Airlines Have Reported about 2,500 Incidents of Unruly Passengers in 2021, FAA Says

t has happened to a model, a medical doctor and a hairstylist, along with many other airline passengers.

They are being singled out or denied boarding on a flight for their fashion choices.

The typical first move for passengers involved: airing their complaints on social media.

That’s what Aurora Culpo did when her sister Olivia Culpo, a model and former Miss Universe, had to cover up her black sports bra and biking shorts with a hoodie before boarding an American Airlines flight.

Aurora, who was traveling with her sister, slammed American on social media.  (CNN)

i guess some companies must enforce a certain decorum!

Can Handle Change?

Changing events have always required the ability to adapt.

Now, more so than ever!

Some examples:

The unknown impact of Artificial Intelligence.

A real war in Ukraine, Gaza and now Iran is getting directly involved.

The results of the Presidential Election this November.

Changes at your workplace.

Changes in your life, your loved ones and friends.

Changes to your health

Some Thoughts:

I’m a believer in prayer. Not just to ask for help, but also to give thanks.

Stop worrying about you and reach out to those who are struggling.

Take action on those problems you CAN SOLVE!

Get talking with others and ask how they cope with CHANGE!

1/3 Companies Studying 4 Day Workweek!

New YorkCNN —

Burnout is such a problem for workers that some bosses are considering shrinking the length of the workweek.

Nearly one-third (30%) of large US companies are exploring new work schedule shifts such as four-day or four-and-a-half-day workweeks, according to a KPMG survey of CEOs released this week.

The findings show how some executives are searching for ways to attract and retain talent in a red hot job market where many employees feel over-worked and underpaid.

“We are all working to figure out what is optimal, and we will continue to experiment and pivot,” Paul Knopp, chair and CEO of KPMG US, told CNN in an interview.

Many workers say they would love a shorter work week.
