Learn To Say, “NO!”

Are you a “YES” person like the man in the photo?

So, are all those “YESSES” spreading you too thin?

Do people keep coming to you to solve their problems?

And do they seek you out because they know you won’t say,”NO?”

Maybe you are a “YES” person or you know someone who is.

“YES” people deserve a BREAK!

You have a life too.

And you have problems to address in your life.

You are probably a very kind person and it’s hard for you to say “NO!”

But, there are times when you must refrain because you have too much on your plate.

In those times, just explain that you’re overloaded and will have to say “NO!”

If not today, when?

Are You Curious?

“Some people see things as they are and ask, “Why?”

Others see things as they could be and ask, “Why not?” (A curious mind)

Curious minds are so necessary if society is to enjoy a better future.

Can you imagine what kind of mind invented the steam locomotive?

All those moving parts must work in harmony for the train to move.

Two days ago, a little privately-owned company designed a satellite to land softly on the moon.

They even had to adjust the software on the fly when there was a problem.

Do you have a curious mind? Use it. Develop it. Share it.

We need you to solve today’s challenges and create new ones.

You Don’t Know What You’ve Got Until You Lose It!

man standing in an abandoned boarded up home

I was talking with an old friend.

After 60 years of marriage, his wife had to move to an assisted living facility.

He told me that, while living alone in his family home, he began to notice things.

Those THINGS were all the nice chores she performed that were not done anymore.

Frankly, he was overwhelmed with all her kindnesses that went unnoticed all those years.

How about YOU?

It would be best if you noticed and acknowledged all the THINGS your partner does for you.

If you have someone who puts up with you every day you are blest!

Be sure to return the blessings!

4 Day Work Week Works In UK!

Commuters cross London Bridge during the morning rush hour on January 31, 2023, in London.

(Commuters crossing London Bridge on their way to work)

One year after the conclusion of the world’s biggest trial of a four-day work week, a large majority of companies that took part were still allowing their employees to work a shorter week and more than half had made the change permanent.

For six months between June and December 2022, workers at 61 organizations in the United Kingdom worked 80% of their usual hours — for the same pay — in exchange for promising to deliver 100% of their usual work.

At least 89% of those firms were still operating the policy and at least 51% had made the four-day week permanent at the end of 2023.

At the end of the trial, employees reported enjoying better physical and mental health, greater work-life balance and general life satisfaction, and less exhaustion from work.

… and these improvements have been maintained one year on.

Pills, Pills, Pills!

I bet you take some pills every day.

Some people have to take 15 or more pills daily.

When adding a new pill, it’s important that your pharmacy check to see if the new one is compatible with all the others.

Then, you may have to contact your referring doctor to renew the prescription so you can get refills when you need them.

Be sure to delete a pill when the condition it was for is no longer needed.

As you know, pill management is an ongoing responsibility of yours.

BTW, how does each pill go to the part of the body where it’s needed?

Move To Italy?

Latronico is in a remote, unspoiled part of Italy.

Buyers from all over the world are snapping up charming old houses in isolated villages in Italy. They’re all motivated by different goals, but they have one thing in common: They all seek a retreat, somewhere they can escape to and live the rural idyll.

Chicago-based saxophonist Joshua Shapiro, 48, embarked on the quest for la dolce vita as the first step toward a change of life.

His long-term goal is to move away from the United States, which he believes is taking a broad political shift that troubles him.

In 2022, he bought a small, abandoned apartment in the village of Latronico, deep in the southern region of Basilicata, for 22,000 euros (roughly $23,600).

After reading CNN Travel’s article about the clever housing program launched to attract migrants and stop depopulation.

For now, he drops in and out as he finalizes his home’s makeover.

In the future, he can see himself making the big leap to relocate permanently.

“I’m ready for the next chapter in my life.”

This classic Italian destination will get its own airport.

He has spent $10,000 so far in rehab.

He also had to chase 3 nuns out who were squatters.

Well, there you have it.

Forget Committees. The Best Ideas Come From 1 Person Alone!

Working alone Free Stock Photos, Images, and Pictures of ...

Committees can evaluate ideas, but it takes 1 person to create them.

Thomas Edison may be the best example.

He had 1,093 patents.

Some of his more notable inventions were: the phonograph, The carbon-button transmitter for the telephone speaker and microphone, the incandescent lamp, the first commercial electric light and the key elements of motion-picture equipment.

The creative genius of a person working alone is unencumbered by the objections of another committee member.

I want to encourage you to be creative and let your mind wander in pursuit of the world’s next new idea!

Don’t Expect Life To Be Fair!

When I was young, I would see unfairness and ask God to make it right.

I just couldn’t understand why some people have it so bad.

And I still don’t understand.

As I got older, I realized it was up us to try to relieve the unjustices.

The biggest thing we can do is be kind to others in every circumstance.

And we must be kind to people we DON’T like or who are not attractive to us.

It’s easy to be kind to someone pleasant but not so easy when they are obstreperous or nasty.

It’s an uphill climb to be kind to someone who just doesn’t appeal to us.

It’s not up to us to be JUDGEMENTAL of another person.

It’s not fair.

Just be kind!
