Happy Wife! Happy Life!

84,000+ Happy Wife Pictures

It’s a simple truth actually.

She is THE HEART of the family.

So, you don’t want her to have a HEARTACHE!

I think most women walk into a marriage with built in attributes.

These attributes allow her to embrace the role of spouse more naturally than the man.

Some of these attributes are candor, compassion and empathy.

The man may struggle to find his place in this new relationship.

That’s why I have chosen “Happy wife! Happy life!” as my title for this blog.

This simple saying is the best guide for a successful marriage.

I recommend it.

EXERCISE=Bad Word?

UM Today | The Conversation: How to think yourself into a fit person

As soon as you mention EXERCISE, people turn away.

For most people, it’s the last thing they want to do.

Each of our bodies, however, is equipped with an elaborate muscle system.

But, for those who don’t EXERCISE, that muscle system deteriorates throughout our lives.

The result is that our quality of life lessens as everything becomes more difficult.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

The decision about EXERCISE is a simple one.

Either EXERCISE now or watch your quality of life DECLINE!

R U A Morning Walker?

When was walking invented? Here's who discovered two-footed ...

(Photo: The dog doesn’t look all that happy.)

You’ll notice that he is walking at sunrise.

So, he is one of the millions of people who rise each morning with a task.

He will walk a mile or two.

Why? Because he wants to or has to.

I’m in the HAS TO category.

I love walking up and down my driveway.

And BTW it is an up and down experience because it’s on a rather severe angle.

Now that winter weather has arrived, however, I am walking each morning inside a beautiful mall.

The mall opens at 10AM, but allows all the walkers in at 7AM.

It’s only my second morning in the mall, but I’ve learned something.

Walkers are not talkers!

If I say, “GOOD MORNING” to passersby, they’re startled.

Oh well, I’m a talker and a walker, so let me say to you, “GOOD MORNING!”

Adjusting To Change!

7 Tips for Taking Photographs in the Snow | B&H eXplora

Yep, last night was our first snow in the Detroit area.

What a shock!

Our yard was green yesterday, but it’s white today and 29 degrees outside.

When you live up north in the U.S. “you’ve got to go with the flow.”

We have many adjustments to make as we go through life and weather is just one of them.

Rigidity is no longer an option if we want to stay an active member of this world.

There are so many things that have changed in our lives and continue to evolve every day.

There is a saying, “Hold on to the sides of the boat.” What it means is “Get ready for the ride in life every day.”

It is much more uplifting and exciting if we are open for some type of adventure every day even if it is just reading something new, taking the dog for a walk and enjoying the neighborhood or even trying a new kind of food.

Give it a try. It may just change your life!

What Grade Would You Give Your Body?

Of course, I mean relative to your age.

Does it sound like a strange question?

Well, I don’t think so.

The physical condition of your body and its ability to meet your needs is a “quality of life issue.”

Give your body a grade from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest.

Now, what can you do to raise your grade?

Two of the most obvious improvements can be what you eat and drink.

Secondly, exercise must be a component of every self improvement plan.

Is there anything that you can do to reduce your stress level?

If you take care of your body, it will take care of you!

Yes, Some Dreams DO Come True!

He was ready to abandon his dream of making a major league team.

He and his wife had traveled all the way to Inchon, South Korea while hoping he’d get noticed.

After two years of pitching down there, no one showed any interest in him.

His wife, however, persuaded him to continue pitching in Inchon.

Another two years went by.

Finally, he was called up by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The rest is history.

Last Saturday night, in game 2 of the World Series, he struck out 9, gave no walks and only 3 hits.

The Diamondbacks won 9 to 1.

Yes, some dreams DO come true!

A Cure For Climate?

Drilling operations by Natural Hydrogen Energy LLC in the Midwest of the USA.

When two scientists went looking for fossil fuels beneath the ground of northeastern France, they did not expect to discover something which could supercharge the effort to tackle the climate crisis.

Jacques Pironon and Phillipe De Donato, both directors of research at France’s National Centre of Scientific Research, were using a “world first” specialized probe, able to analyze gases dissolved in the water of rock formations deep underground.

As the probe went deeper, the concentration of hydrogen ticked up. At 1,100 meters down it was 14%, at 1,250 meters it was 20%.

That could make it one of the largest deposits of “white hydrogen” ever discovered, Pironon said. The find has helped fuel an already feverish interest in the gas.

When hydrogen burns, it puts off water, making it a climate friendly source of fuel. (CNN)

President Joe Biden on Friday announced the locations of seven regional hubs to manufacture hydrogen which will begin a clean energy revolution in the U.S.

Never, Never Give Up!

One of two men missing at sea for nearly two weeks was found alive on Thursday by a Canadian fishing boat in a life raft in Canadian waters.

It was approximately 70 miles northwest of Cape Flattery, Washington, according to US Coast Guard spokesperson Petty Officer Steve Strohmaier.

“The fact that he was in this life raft for multiple days, and still maintained hope, and was eventually found by a more or less random fishing boat was incredible and just a miraculous thing.”

“The Ocean is a very vast place. He was floating in the middle of nowhere.

A lot of times, it is pretty infrequent to have a vessel passing by.” (CNN)

We must live with hope!

Music To Reduce Pain!

(add caption)

When Adele debuted her 2011 single “Someone Like You,” her bittersweet ballad resonated with millions worldwide.

More than a decade later, it remains one of her most popular tunes.

Her artistry, as well as that of many others who have mastered the art of tugging at our heartstrings with slow and emotional beats, has a way of managing the emotional pain of heartbreak and loss.

There is no doubt that music can soothe the soul for some, and it turns out that it could also be a temporary soother for physical pain.

Listening to favorite songs could reduce people’s perception of pain, according to a new study published Wednesday in the journal Frontiers in Pain Research.

And the most effective pain relievers were found to be melancholy songs detailing bittersweet and emotional experiences.  (CNN)

Hopefully, for those who suffer from emotional and/or physical pain, this may be a temporary source of relief.

Too Bad He Was Born On Halloween!

Halloween Images - Free Download on Freepik

Yep.

None of his friends wanted to celebrate his birthday.

All they could think of was costumes and trick or treating.

So, he told me his birthday brought him bad luck.

He was a co-captain of a high school football team of which I was an assistant coach

This Halloween he’ll be 28 years old.

He has had a hard life thus far.

I’ve invited some of the guys from our team to surprise him at a restaurant this Saturday.

It may be the first birthday party he’s ever had.

Maybe his luck will change.

If not Saturday, when?
