Yes, we are a mixed bag. All of us.

And so to make life more wonderful we must search for the BEAUTY!

Each of us is well aware of our flaws.

But, unfortunately, not so much our beauty.

Take a moment to ask yourself, “What is good or beautiful about me?

Once identified, how can you use your beautiful traits to your benefit and the benefit of others?

We were all born with traits that might be unused at this stage in our lives…

What a waste for you and for the rest of us!

Use your beautiful traits more deliberately and more often!

Are you interested in becoming MORE humble?

If so, here are 3 ways to practice humility:

1. Recognizing your own shortcomings and limitations.
2. Appreciating others’ strengths and giving credit where it’s due.
3. Showing openness to learning from others.

You will become more successful in building new relationships if you decide to use the three techniques listed above.

No one is attracted to arrogant people who are full of themselves.

Today’s title is from Albert Einstein.

He was a Jew and a pacifist.

He was one of the most brilliant people who ever lived.

He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in physics in 1921.

When he divorced his wife, he offered his Nobel Peace Prize as part of the settlement.

When he saw that Hitler was preparing for war, he left his native Germany and came to the United States.

When war broke out, he sought an audience with President Roosevelt explaining that Hitler was developing an atomic bomb and encouraging the U.S. to do the same.

He later regretted his contribution to the U.S. atomic bomb when he realized Germany would be unable to develop theirs.

His was a life filled with accomplishment and regret!

I’m assuming that your family began with you and your partner.

And that your family has grown with children and grandchildren.

Throughout your marriage, you and your partner must be committed to each other.

This will send a consistent message to all family members.

There may be times when the unity of your family is in jeopardy.

There could be a variety of potential causes.

Regardless of the cause, your response will send a message to all family members.

That message must be that there is always room under the tent for various points of view.

“Remember it’s your (sister) brother” must be your mantra.

Family isn’t the only thing. It’s everything.

We live in divisive times, but divisiveness has no place in a family.

When you see trouble coming, you must step up to the challenge.

That’s what leaders do!

Adventure cruise company Hurtigruten Norway today revealed plans for a zero-emissions electric cruise ship with retractable sails covered in solar panels.

It is due to set sail in 2030.

The company currently has a fleet of eight ships, each with a capacity of 500 passengers.

They travel along the Norwegian coast from Oslo to the Arctic Circle.

Although a relatively small firm, CEO Hedda Felin hopes that this innovation “can inspire the entire maritime industry.”

The project, named “Sea Zero,” was initially announced in March 2022.

Since then, Hurtigruten Norway, has been exploring technological solutions that could help to achieve emission-free marine travel. (CNN)

Even this little child is learning to be grateful.

Grateful people enjoy better physical health!

Grateful people can cope with adversity better!

Grateful people focus on what they have, not what they don’t have!

Grateful people are not complainers!

Grateful people are fun to be around!

Grateful people are more optimistic!

Grateful people bounce back from bad news quicker!

Well, the day has arrived!

Another grandchild is off to college.

She has been awarded a scholarship to play volleyball at the collegiate level.

Of course, we all wish her well.

Like every high school graduate, she is leaving home and entering a new world.

When athletes receive a scholarship, many expectations are placed on their shoulders.

Our granddaughter is no exception.

Although she is welcomed by the coach and team members, she will have to compete with other players in order to get “game time.”

And the scholarship is only valid if she attains the minimum grades required by the college.

Unlike other students, she must have enough stamina to spend many hours practicing and studying.

Today, it all begins!

This is David Breaux, a graduate of Stanford University, who devoted his later years to the practice of compassion.

He would stand on a street corner in Irvine, California near the University.

He asked passersby to write their definition of COMPASSION in his notebook.

Sometimes, that encounter would grow into a discussion with his new friend.

Having suffered a traumatic childhood, he showed great compassion to everyone.

When asked how he was, he always answered, “Peaceful.”

He was very approachable and people poured out their deepest life concerns to him.

He often slept in shelters or on park benches.

This last April, Mr. Breaux was found on a park bench stabbed to death.

The city of Davis erected a shrine to Mr. Breaux on the street corner where he practiced his compassion to passersby.

Sometimes, life can be cruel and unfair.

His death was one of those times!

Don’t be surprised if an achievement is much harder than you thought it would be!

Nothing worthwhile is easy.

Parenting isn’t easy. It never has been and never will be.

A successful marriage requires patience and perseverance of both partners.

The road to success is always fraught with potholes.

You may have to experience some failures before you can clarify the right solution.

I started many businesses. None of them were easy. Some succeeded. Some failed.

It’s a wild ride.

Buckle up!

In all my years I’ve never seen such divisiveness.

The idea of RED and BLUE STATES is a huge mistake!

We did that once. We should not do it again.

We are the UNITED STATES.

Those in Congress should put the wellbeing of the country ahead of themselves.

When they vote along party lines, they’re NOT putting the country first.

They are Americans first and should put the interests of America first!

We call that PATRIOTISM!!
