No one carries the burdens of this world like a MOM.

Her journey often begins with morning sickness.

In fact, many dramatic physical changes take place.

Actually, the newly conceived child’s needs take precedence.

As MOM’S body moves through various stages, MOM’ emotions change also.

Finally, the day of birthing is here with its physical pain.

Now that the new baby is here, MOM has new responsibilities.

From this moment on, MOM will try try to provide her baby with nourishment, safety, an education, medical care and most of all, LOVE.

It’s not easy and never was for all the wonderful MOMS of our world.

THANK YOU MOM.

Although you have passed on, I will always love YOU!

Do you have a dream?

I had one.

I wanted to race aboard a large racing yacht in the annual Chicago to Mackinac island race.

It was something I had thought about for many years.

Finally, in 2007, I was invited to become a crewman aboard a 70 foot yacht named “Pied Piper.”

It was everything I had hoped for.

If you have a dream, go for it!

If you don’t have a dream, consider pursuing one.

It makes life so much more worthwhile.

You might say you’re too busy to take in the great outdoors.

But, let me suggest that we all need BALANCE in our lives.

So, what are the BALANCE FACTORS?

Love, Rest, Work. Socialization, Nourishment, Exercise, Appreciation of our Surroundings.

If you take time to refresh your soul, you’ll find the INNER PEACE we all strive for.

Without true love we just exist, Alfie

I also add LOVE OF NATURE.

These are difficult times for everyone.

There are many uncertainties in the lives of everyone.

But, we can’t be “All work and no play.”

One of the things we must do is exercise.

A strong body can help us deal with emotional stress.

Don’t resort to alcohol. Drinking will make a bad situation worse.

You must also get adequate sleep.

The bottom line is this: Take care of yourself. You can’t let yourself get burned out!

I was not a big dog lover, but my wife is.

So, I want her to be happy as possible.

We began going to shelters to find one she would like.

At the third shelter she said that’s the one!

We read the dog’s history and learned she had just delivered a big litter.

Then, the owner put her out into the streets to fend for herself.

My wife named her “HAPPY.”

HAPPY is very AFFECTIONATE with everyone.

Every morning she is so EXCITED to see us.

She is ALWAYS LOYAL.

She lives for TODAY.

She is a PERFECT COMPANION.

We should all strive to live with her traits.

Then, we could be HAPPY!!!

A Chicago police officer who had just completed a shift was shot and killed in the city’s South Side Avalon Park neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police received a call of shots fired at around 1:42 a.m. local time, interim Chicago police superintendent Eric Carter said at a Saturday news conference.

She died from her wounds early this morning, Carter said.

As of Saturday morning, no one is in custody and police continue to investigate the incident.

The officer had served on the force for three years, according to Carter.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot also addressed the killing:

“It’s unfortunate that we’re standing here again today to talk about another tragedy that has befallen one of our bravest citizens.” (CNN)

Something changed with the Covid-19 pandemic,

That change is among the many captured in the 2023 Survey of Registered Nurses from AMN Healthcare, a nurse staffing company.

The biannual survey of 18,000 nurses, published Monday, points to what AMN Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Cole Edmonson called a “perfect storm.”

Problems for the profession could leave the US health care industry without the nurses it needs.

The survey, which was conducted in January, shows a group of professionals who care very much about their work.

But it also shows a significant decline in work satisfaction and an increase in stress levels.

Many are thinking about leaving the profession.

“A crisis in nursing is upon us,” Edmonson says in the survey.
