After 50 Tries, A Win!

Kurt Kitayama participated in and did NOT WIN 50 professional golf tournaments.

But, in his 51st tournament, he won $3.6 million dollars in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Is there a lesson here for you and me?

I think so.

If you decide to pursue a goal, it’s YOU VERSES YOU.

Don’t quit on yourself too soon!

This golfer was a nobody in 50 tournaments.

Now he’s somebody.

Don’t give up on something you really want to achieve.

Get up everyday and go after it.

If not today, when?

Don’t Use The Silent Treatment!

When some people get upset with another, they go into “Silent Mode.”

This technique is used to punish the other person.

It’s very frustrating to other person who wants to “Talk It Out.”

Sometimes, the silent treatment becomes a lifelong habit.

Of course, the disagreement can only be solved through dialogue.

The sooner a healthy dialogue can begin the better it is for the relationship.

Don’t ever use the Silent Treatment.

Not today, not ever!

Still A Courtship!

Wife doesn't want husband to say it with flowers

Your marriage should be a lifelong courtship.

Do you still bring flowers to your wife?

If not, why not?

Keep the romance alive!

Take her out to dinner, just the two of you.

Whether you have children or not, continue to treat her as the “object of your affection.”

In most marriages, the women contribute more to the relationship.

The best way to say “thanks” is to keep the romance ALIVE!

Listen To Spouse?

Love and Listening - Muddling through Middle Age

You probably spend more time with your spouse than anyone else.

But, do you really listen?

So, you’ll tell me, “Of course I listen to my spouse.

Maybe, you do.

Many spouses don’t.

Especially men.

The most important relationship in your life is with your spouse.

If both spouses are good listeners, their marriage has a greater chance of success!

Be a good listener.

Do You Complement?

We don’t do it often enough.

And people are often shocked when you complement them.

They are shocked because most people don’t voice their appreciation of the other person.

Everyone is in too much of a hurry.

So, they often take the other person for granted.

People want to be noticed and appreciated for what they do.

The best way to express your appreciation is with a complement.

Do it more often!

Addicted To The News?

Many of us always want to get the latest news.

That’s understandable, but once you hear about some bad news, how long does it occupy your mind?

The irony is that we can’t do anything about a particular tragedy, yet we think about it.

I think present day society is on NEWS OVERLOAD!

I know some people who don’t subscribe to any source of news.

This gives them 100% of their time to change those things they can change.

An interesting concept, don’t you think?

United Becomes “Kid Friendly!”

United Airlines responds to photo of packed plane | Fox Business

On Monday, United Airlines announced that it will allow children under 12 to sit next to a family member for free starting in early March.

new feature on the airline’s online seating selection program will show parents more options for adjacent seats for children when we book our tickets.

And if there aren’t adjacent seats, it will let us switch to a different flight to the same destination with adjacent seats, without additional charges.

Kara Alaimo:

“For parents of young children like me, this is a very welcome change. It’s just the start of what all airlines should be doing to make air travel more family friendly.”  (CNN)

Hopefully, other airlines will follow suit!

Phone Addiction?

It is indisputable that many of us spend much of our lives in front of our screens – especially our phones.

What’s also indisputable is that some of those activities can take us down a spiraling, time-suck rabbit hole.

In fact, 31% of US adults and 46% of US teens say they are on the internet “almost constantly,” according to Pew Research Surveys from 2021 and 2022.

How much is too much? Sometimes it’s hard to know. But sometimes, the answer is much more obvious. It was for Jerome Yankey. He was a college freshman when he noticed that his use of social media, specifically TikTok, had become problematic. (CNN)

How about you?

Too much time on your phone takes you away from more productive activities like exercising and being with friends.

As in every other phase of life, we must strike a balance.
