A Disconnect Between Degrees And Jobs?

According to the Federal Reserve’s January 2025 Report, 38% of graduates are underemployed.

This refers to those unable to be employed in their chosen field.

The highest underemployment rates are in Criminal Justice 67%, Performing Arts 62% and Medical Technicians 57%.

These figures indicate that more than half of these graduates are employed in jobs that don’t require a college degree.

Another issue that must be explored is the ability of graduates to be AGGRESSI VE JOB SEEKERS!

Many are not the personality type ready to compete for a diminishing number of jobs.

Also a huge problem is the student loan balance they need to payoff.

And I haven’t mentioned the impact of AI.

Tough times.
